Residential Volleyball Courts

Court Builders Northern California, Professional-grade volleyball courts designed for family fun and safety—built by Northern California’s only ASBA Certified Court Builder.

Backyard Volleyball Courts & Multi-Sport Systems

A backyard volleyball court is more than just a place to play; it’s a hub for family gatherings, summer parties, and athletic development. But playing on grass can be slippery, and playing on raw concrete is dangerous.

At Court Builders Northern California, we design residential courts that solve these problems. As a Class A Licensed General Engineering Contractor, we transform your yard into a safe, year-round arena. From the initial grading and drainage to the final installation of our high-performance modular surface, we handle every step to ensure your court lasts a lifetime.

The "Multi-Sport" Advantage

Most homeowners don't have the space for a dedicated volleyball court and a basketball court. That is why we specialize in seamless integration. We design courts that maximize every inch of your backyard.
    • 3-in-1 Versatility: With our patented adjustable net systems, your court can transform in seconds. Lower the net for Pickleball or Tennis, raise it for Badminton, or crank it to full height for Volleyball.
    • Hidden Engineering: We install professional-grade sleeves directly into the concrete foundation. When the game is over, remove the lightweight poles and place the cap over the hole. The cap sits flush with the surface, instantly returning your court to a wide-open space for basketball or scooters.

Engineered for Safety & Comfort

Volleyball involves diving, jumping, and landing. Traditional asphalt or concrete surfaces are unforgiving on joints and can cause painful "road rash." Our system is different.

    • Safe for Diving: We install suspended modular tiles designed with a smooth, low-abrasion texture. This allows players to dive for a dig without scraping their skin, making it much safer for children than rough concrete.
    • Shock Absorption: Our surfacing technology provides vertical cushioning. It absorbs the shock of landing after a spike, significantly reducing stress on knees, ankles, and lower backs compared to hardscapes.
    • No Mud, No Slip: Grass courts turn into mud pits in the Northern California rain. Our open-grid tiles are self-draining. Water flows right through them, meaning your kids can play outside just minutes after a storm without slipping or tracking mud into the house.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: My backyard is small. Can I still fit a volleyball court?

A: Yes. While a regulation volleyball court is 60’ x 30’, we specialize in custom residential sizing. We can scale the court dimensions down to fit your specific yard layout while keeping the proportions correct for enjoyable play. We can also integrate a volleyball net into a standard half-court basketball setup.

Q: Can I install this over my existing lawn?

A: Not directly. To ensure the net poles are stable and the surface is flat, we need a solid foundation. We typically excavate the grass and pour a post-tension concrete slab. This prevents the ground from shifting and ensures your court remains level for decades.

Q: How difficult is it to set up the net?

A: It is designed for one person to handle. Our aluminum poles are lightweight but incredibly strong. You simply slide them into the ground sleeves, attach the net, and use the crank mechanism to tighten it. The whole setup takes less than 5 minutes.

Q: Will the court get hot in the summer?

A: Our modular tiles are engineered to stay cooler than concrete. The "suspended" design allows air to circulate underneath the surface, and the UV-stable materials do not absorb and radiate heat the way asphalt does, making it comfortable for barefoot play in the summer.

What Our Customers Say About Us:

“When an agent secures a listing on a home with a Game Court in it, I know they will have a much easier time finding a buyer for that house than a similar home with a swimming pool.”

- J.B. Goodwin, CEO/Broker, JBGoodwin Company

“I wanted to let you know how much we love our Game Court. At least one of our three kids uses it every day. I promise I'm not exaggerating – we use it every day.”

- Cindy and Lamar Slay

“The first night the court was completed, our entire family had a blast playing tennis and basketball and we realized how much 'together time' we had been missing.”

- Mac Pfeiffer

“My ability to continue to play through the joint pain, after so many years on concrete, was reaching the point of no return. Game Court gave me a second chance; and I am able even now at 65 to play two hours with no problems of any kind.”

- Howard Rubin

“I am writing to tell you how much our Game Court has meant to my family over the 14 years that we have had it. I have two boys, who early on, used the Game Court to learn to ride tricycles and bikes because we live on a steep hill and this provided the only flat surface. They learned to hit the baseball off a tee and to catch. Eventually, they learned to shoot baskets. They each have been excellent three-point shooters attributable solely to many hours they spent on the court.”
