Residential Futsal Court Construction & Installation
Court Builders Northern California: High-Performance Futsal & Soccer Court Construction
TL;DR: Professional Backyard Futsal Courts
Court Builders Northern California designs and installs high-performance residential futsal courts. We replace cracked asphalt or grass with specialized Sport Court® modular tiles that offer true ball roll (mimicking indoor hardwood) and superior shock absorption. Whether you need official FIFA dimensions or a compact backyard training pitch, our ASBA-certified team handles the entire process from grading to goal installation.
The Ultimate Training Ground: Backyard Futsal Courts
There is a reason why the world’s best soccer players—from Brazil to Spain—grew up playing Futsal. The fast pace, smaller playing area, and heavier ball force players to develop sharper reflexes, tighter ball control, and quicker decision-making.
As Northern California's premier backyard futsal court builder, we bring this "secret weapon" of player development directly to your home. We design and build custom backyard futsal courts that fit your available space, providing a safe, high-performance surface where your children can train like pros and play for hours.
Why Build a Futsal Court at Home?
Grass fields are great for games, but they are often muddy, uneven, or closed due to rain. A backyard futsal court gives your family a 365-day training facility.
-
- Skill Acceleration: The flat, consistent surface ensures a "true roll," allowing players to master complex dribbling moves that are impossible on bumpy grass.
- Speed of Play: The ball moves faster on our specialized modular tiles than on grass, forcing young athletes to think and react quicker.
- No Mud, No Mess: Our courts are self-draining. Your kids can go out and train just minutes after a rainstorm without tracking mud back into the house.

Custom Sizing for Any Backyard
What is Athletic Surfacing?
You don't need a stadium-sized lot to build a great court. While an official FIFA international futsal court is roughly 40m x 20m, we specialize in Residential Training Courts scaled to fit Northern California properties.
-
- The "Skill Court": Even a compact 30’ x 50’ space is perfect for 3v3 games and intensive technical drills.
- Multi-Sport Integration: We frequently overlay futsal markings on standard basketball or pickleball courts. With one investment, you get a basketball court for hoops and a futsal pitch for soccer training, maximizing your backyard's utility.
We can build to official FIFA Regulation Futsal Court standards or create custom futsal court dimensions to fit your yard.
Engineered for Safety & Performance
Our outdoor futsal flooring is engineered to provide the same ball roll as indoor hardwood. Additionally, soccer is a high-impact sport. Playing on raw concrete is dangerous for knees and ankles. We install high-performance suspended modular surfacing designed specifically for athlete safety.
-
- Lateral Forgiveness™: Our tiles are engineered to have a slight "give" side-to-side. This absorbs the lateral forces generated during sudden cuts and pivots, significantly reducing the risk of ankle rolls and knee strain.
- Shock Absorption: The suspended design acts as a shock absorber, protecting young joints from the impact of running on hard surfaces.
- Non-Abrasive Texture: Unlike asphalt, which acts like sandpaper during a fall, our tiles are designed to be skin-friendly, reducing "road rash" from sliding tackles or trips.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I use my futsal court for other sports?
A: Absolutely. This is our most popular design. We can install a "Multi-Game Court" that includes striping for Futsal, Basketball, Pickleball, and Volleyball all on the same surface. The futsal goals can be movable, allowing you to clear the court for other activities.
Q: Is a futsal court better than artificial turf?
A: For technical training, yes. While turf mimics a field, a hard modular surface (like those used in professional Futsal) speeds up the game and demands better ball control. Additionally, modular tiles require zero infill (no rubber pellets) and are much easier to clean than synthetic turf.
Q: How much space do I need for a backyard futsal court?
A: We recommend a minimum of roughly 25’ x 45’ for a functional training space, though we can customize to any shape. Ideally, you want a 2:1 length-to-width ratio to mimic the geometry of a full field.
Q: Does the ball bounce too much on a hard court?
A: Futsal is played with a special "low-bounce" ball (a size 3 or 4 weighted ball). When used on our modular tiles, the game physics are perfect—fast rolling but controlled bouncing—replicating the indoor arena experience outdoors.
